Woods Bagot has appointed Cara MacArthur as a Principal in its Los Angeles studio. Cara will lead the studio’s interiors offering by applying the experience she has gathered over the last two decades delivering corporate interiors and workplace strategy projects across North America.

Cara is a vastly experienced interior design leader with a passion for implementing people-driven strategy and a proven track record of growing teams across diverse regions. She is also adept at simultaneously managing multiple large-scale projects and ensuring client satisfaction across various sectors.

In her most recent role, Cara was a Senior Principal and Director of Interiors at global architectural practice HOK, based in Los Angeles. During this time, she was responsible for client relationships, practice management, financial performance, and staff development.

Cara has also successfully led many workplace interiors projects across industries ranging from corporate, technology, higher education, and life sciences, to cultural, and commercial. Some of the major global names she has delivered schemes for include The Trade Desk, EY, Allen & Overy, Sony and WPP.

“The Los Angeles market is stabilising, with clients looking to invest in their spaces again,” says Cara. “Upcoming global events including the World Cup and Olympics are also driving longer-term investment in the area, yielding new opportunities for experiential and human-centered interiors.”
