Chongqing Landmark Riverside Park honoured with ICSC China Shopping Centre Silver Award

Principal Billy Ip with the project client, Hongkong Land received the awards at the presentation ceremony on 6th April in Shanghai.


“The project is momentous in rejuvenating a part of the city that is composed of historical and cultural components that are convincingly woven into a commercially sustainable retail, residential and leisure development to provide Chongqing citizens with a multi-dimensional modern landmark of international standard and facilities,” said Principal Billy Ip.

Chongqing Landmark Riverside Park was a partnership between Hongkong Land and China Merchants Shekou Holdings.  Designed in collaboration by Woods Bagot (interior design), Architect Paul Andreu (master planning) and LWK & Partners (architectural design).

Located in an area of rich cultural heritage and history, the project was influenced by ancient Europe and the Bayu culture, a traditional city in China. It was designed to link the city’s storied past to its promising future, and to connect local society with the world through a multicultural environment.  Chongqing Landmark Riverside Park sits in the central business district of Danzishi in Chongqing’s Nanan District overlooking Chongqing Grand Theatre and Chaotianmen Harbour, on the waterfront between the Yangtze and Jialiang rivers. The development has a total gross floor area of 120,000 sqm. comprising shopping center featuring leading brands from around the world. The development also involved the habitation of one kilometer of marble stone streets as well as the renovation of the old French navy barracks.  The project was designed to become the first cultural tourism complex in Chonqqing.
