On September 23rd, the Woods Bagot designed Shenzhen Hazens Longgang Longteng Urban Regeneration MLP was awarded a Merit Award in the Plan/Concept category of the Urban Design Awards 2021 by the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design (HKIUD).

Woods Bagot Principals Christopher Lye and Charlie Chen were present at the award ceremony and joined in on the celebrations with other industry professionals.

We’re thrilled to see the project pick up another prestigious honour after being rated as one of the ‘Most Important Projects’ by the Shenzhen government in 2016 and its approval by the Shenzhen Planning Bureau in 2019.  

Central to the rejuvenation of a river park area running through the site, this project was developed following principles of community, sustainability, infrastructural connectivity, retail experience, and modern lifestyle, applied to the local characteristics of Shenzhen. This is the first step to regenerate Longgang district not just for this site, but the whole of Shenzhen East.

Rebranded as Hazens Fangzhou Ark in late August 2021, the project has been successfully launched to the public, joining with China Resources MIXC Lifestyle for the property management. This marks a significant step of the master planning turning into reality and soon to become a Super Future Town in east Shenzhen. 

From fishing village to global innovation hub, Shenzhen exemplifies the success story of China’s opening-up to the world. Now at the core of the Greater Bay Area plan, the city will continue its positive impact with strong economic growth, industrialization, and urbanization.
