About the Role

This position will contribute to the vision and objectives of Woods Bagot and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and ability to drive the design, documentation, and delivery of our award-winning projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan the project design, delivery, and financial strategy in conjunction with studio leadership and monitor performance against that plan.
  • Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP & consultants throughout the project.
  • Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, building and permitting officials to coordinate the work and create innovative, efficient project design and delivery.
  • Review project correspondence, meeting notes and other data to keep fully informed on the project.
  • Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and office.
  • Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means and follow-up on the action items.
  • Coordinate with the studio management on the status of current and future resource requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges.
  • Guide the project design to meet local codes and regulations.
  • Maintain project manual and specifications.
  • Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction.
  • Experienced in developing documentation for all phases of design and delivery, including construction administration and Quality Management.
  • Participate in monthly work-in-progress reviews to ensure project timeline, invoicing, and budget are maintained.
  • Utilize Revit and BIM360 and other modern methods for model-based reviews, design, presentation, and production.
  • Ensure that all project risks are identified and mitigated in coordination with studio leadership.
  • Ensure that the project is managed effectively and with foresight and to maximize profit within the context of other responsibilities.
  • Ensure implementation of GIG (Global Impact Group) initiatives for sustainability, wellness, and social impact throughout the project phases
  • Inspires and leads others by example, participates in staff mentoring and training, clearly defines team member expectations and responsibilities, empowers others, and delegates where appropriate based on team members’ recognized abilities and potential.

About You

As the successful candidate you will have experience working with a collaborative, creative and resourceful team. You have specialised experience in the design and construction of architectural projects.

You will be able to Demonstrate:

  • 5-10+ years’ experience (or equivalent) working in the Architecture field.
  • Hold a master’s degree in architecture.
  • Experience leading high value projects, of a medium to large scale
  • Hold current Architectural registration in Victoria.
  • Capable of leading and managing a high performing team.
  • Strong Revit skills are essential.
  • Rhino skills (including Grasshopper) highly regarded.
  • Solid knowledge of the full Adobe suite (InDesign & Photoshop essential).
  • Enscape skills and additional rendering software programs an advantage.
  • Demonstrate sound skills in overarching concept design to design development and design delivery.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of project delivery requirements.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of local NCC standards and regulation essential.
  • Ability to mentor and guide less experience team members.
