Woods Bagot is proud to announce three projects that have been selected by Interior Design Magazine as finalists for the 2023 Best of Year Awards.
Celebrating its 18th year, Interior Design’s Best of Year has become the standard of measure for excellence in design. This premiere design awards program honors the most significant work of designers, architects, and manufacturers from around the world.
The three projects selected as finalists for 2023 awards represent the breadth of work coming out of the NY Studio, from retail, to residential, New York City, to Jersey City, and highlight the exciting work of Woods Bagot North America.
D.S. & Durga Abbot Kinney, located in Venice Beach, California, a finalist in the Beauty Retail category, is the first West Coast location for the fragrance retailer. The new store represents the ongoing design collaboration between Krista Ninivaggi, Principal and Interior Design Leader for Woods Bagot New York and Kavi Moltz, Co-founder of D.S. & Durga. Ralph Gentile Architects collaborated with Woods Bagot as local Architect of Record.

The Hendrix, a finalist in the Large Residential Lobby + Amenity Space, is part of the resurgence of the Powerhouse Arts District of Jersey City. Developed by Eric Silverman of Starwood Capital, Peter Mocco with Liberty Harbor together with the Albanese Organization, the building represents the latest in amenity-rich luxury living for the neighborhood.
Central Park North, a finalist in the Unbuilt Residential category, is a proposed 25-story mixed-income residential building on the sight of the obsolete Lincoln Correctional Facility. The project incorporates a diverse offering of residence sizes with rich amenities in addition to a 14,000sf ground floor community facility. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage and architectural context of its Harlem community, the design expresses contemporary aesthetics while honoring the significant history of the area.
Winners will be announced at the ceremony, hosted by Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen in Manhattan on Thursday, December 7.
