Harvey B. Milk Terminal 1 Wins AIA San Francisco’s 2022 People’s Choice Award

Harvey B. Milk Terminal

Now a two-year-old tradition, the American Institute of Architects San Francisco invites the public to recognize exceptional architectural work in and by the San Francisco Bay Area design community. Following an open poll, Woods Bagot’s Harvey B. Milk Terminal 1 gained the most votes from a pool of over eighty projects and was as awarded the 2022 People’s Choice Award.

Harvey B. Milk Terminal 1 is one of the largest projects undertaken by our client, the San Francisco International Airport, and is designed to accommodate a 70% increase in passenger capacity while achieving a 59% reduction in energy use from current terminal operations. The approach redefines traditional passengers’ travel experience while celebrating the Bay Area’s nature, culture, and aesthetics.
