2022 AIA Awards: The Road So Far…

We are only mid-way through the Australian Institute of Architects annual awards program and so far we have seen great success in the Victorian and South Australian chapters with named awards through to commendations. We’ve particularly enjoyed the citations from the juries which we have collated below. We are hugely appreciative of the recognition of our work, having involved years of passion, hard work and perseverance through close collaborative partnerships with our clients and respective council and community groups, these awards are a chance to reflect and celebrate. These places are best experienced in person, but until then enjoy our round up below.

405 Bourke Street wins The Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award for Commercial Architecture

Deakin Law School Building wins Award for Educational Architecture

“Perched on the northwest edge of Deakin University’s Burwood Campus, Deakin Law School Building by Woods Bagot represents a deft architectural composition of contemporary tertiary learning and teaching spaces.”

Penny Place recognised with Commendation for Residential Architcture – Multiple Housing

“Situated near Victoria Square, Penny Place residents enjoy the advantages of inner city living whilst maintaining an individual and private home. Noting that good design can have a value greater than its cost, Penny Place leverages the skills and experience of the project team to develop a smart, flexible and affordable outcome.”

Sculptform Design Studio recognised with Commendation in Interior Architecture

“Sculptform Design Studio is an elegant gesture that blurs the line between workplace and workshop. The back-of-house as the cetrepiece of the experience is an excellent strategy to connect the design community through the process of co-creation.”
