Two Woods Bagot projects have been shortlisted in this year’s Mix Awards – The International for ‘Project of the Year’ and Convene Sancroft for Project of the Year – Workplace Interiors.
Shortlisted, Project of the Year – Design and Build: The International – Sydney
Designed by Woods Bagot, The International has been shortlisted for Project of the Year in the 2025 Mix Interiors Awards. Led by Woods Bagot Principal and Global Sector Leader – Hospitality Tracey Wiles, each venue features a tailored design response to emphasise its distinctive identity and purpose.
Rising between Harry Seidler’s “Modernist Mushroom” and the heritage-listed MLC Centre, The International draws energy from the precinct’s mid-century modern design, celebrating its place within the cultural epicentre of the CBD. One destination, three venues: The International is more than a restaurant—it’s a social and culinary destination where the food and wine are delicious, and the service is dedicated, inspired, and authentic.
“Our vision for The International was to create a destination that feels both familiar and fresh,” says Wiles. “It’s a place where the spirit of long lunches and memorable dates lives on but reimagined for future generations. We’ve worked to achieve a delicate balance between calm, pared-back design and bold, mid-century modern influences. It’s a space that feels both grounded and aspirational.”

Shortlisted, Project of the Year – Workplace Interiors: Convene, Sancroft St Paul’s
Convene, a global hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible office spaces, reveals a new 45,000-square-foot meeting and events venue in Sancroft, St Paul’s. As with Convene’s first award-winning UK location at 22 Bishopsgate, Woods Bagot led the design for this high-design space across two floors. The space includes a 900-person grand hall, seven meeting rooms, a gallery, and hospitality areas tailored to the Convene brand.
The building sits on Paternoster Square directly adjacent St Paul’s Cathedral, surrounded by both historic and modern buildings. Drawing from the rich local tradition of craftsmanship, the design takes inspiration from the Elizabethan era through bold colours, floral wallpapers, and tactile fabrics nodding to a palette of the past.
Woods Bagot Principal Peter O’Donnell says, “We are thrilled to have been finalists in the Mix Awards for our collaboration with Convene at the Sancroft, St. Paul’s location. This project has been scaled up and crafted into a new exemplar meetings and events destination for the City of London. We are immensely proud of this project and are thrilled to see it recognised in this year’s MIX awards.”
In a bustling corner of London’s Paternoster Square, a new landmark has emerged, blending tradition with contemporary design.
