Uniting Communities

Adelaide CBD’s premier social and community services hub.

U City Pitt Street

Uniting Communities U City redevelopment is a radically mixed use development situated in the centre of Adelaide’s CBD and positioned along the pedestrian riverbank to market link. With circa 150 year presence on the site, the redevelopment demonstrates a renewed commitment by Uniting Communities in providing relevant, compassionate, inclusive and individually respected communities to support all people.

Project details

The project brief presented an exceptional proposition, in particular the vision for the precinct to be “Adelaide CBD’s premier social and community services hub.”

We saw the opportunity to integrate this aspiration into the existing strong community and to ensure it reflects emerging social, cultural and economic trends.

U City was completed in 2019 on a site the not-for-profit community services organisation has owned for more than 150 years.

The tower is segmented into different zones for retirement residences, specialist disability accommodation, accessible serviced apartments, functions, a Uniting Communities Social Services Hub, commercial and retail spaces
