A planning application has been submitted for a new development at the front of the Wembley Holiday Inn hotel in London. The residential-led scheme will deliver much-needed care and co-living accommodation in a single mixed-use building.

Woods Bagot’s plans include a new 25-storey tower featuring 90 care rooms and 329 co-living rooms. This will be the first combination of co-living and care rooms in a singular building in London, and one of the first globally, unlocking multi-generational benefits of bringing these two distinct groups together, such as combating loneliness.
The building is inspired by and celebrates the history and context of the site while having a recognisable identity to support the development being part of the area’s long-term sustainable future.
Brent Council’s Urban Design team comments: “Externally, the façades are well-composed, with good proportions that establish a clear hierarchy across the scheme, defining base, middle and top from ground floor to roof level. The existing late modernist hotel designed by Seifert has influenced the concept, creating a unique cluster in colour and form that is unique to this part of Wembley.”
