International and Domestic Terminals Consolidated Improving Passenger Experience
In preparation for the consolidation of Perth Airport’s International and Domestic terminals, Woods Bagot is working on the redesign of the arrivals processing areas. This first phase of the project is now complete with inbound immigration moved to a new area on level one, providing twice the size and amenity of the previous immigration area. Also on level one, a new duty free store is also twice the size of the previous store.

Prior to this upgrade, the existing facilities had remained largely unaltered since the terminal was built in 1983. The new facilities will incorporate more intuitive way finding, increased natural lighting, improved queuing, additional baggage reclaim capacity and larger circulation spaces.
Woods Bagot has also been appointed for the second larger phase of the development; the addition of significant domestic traffic capacity to relieve pressure from the congested domestic campus. Additional international capacity also forms part of this second phase and comprises two gates capable of handling the five hundred seat double deck Airbus A380 currently operated by Qantas, Emirates and Singapore to the international terminal.
