Characterised by the concept of “future classic”, the spatial design combines neo-classical elegance with contemporary expressions of beauty, including assertive forms and colours, to create a next-generation workplace experience for staff and client alike.
101 Collins Street is more than an address: it is as a place of influence and prestige, and an obvious site for Crestone when it engaged Woods Bagot to reposition its new workplace.
The project draws cues from Collins Street’s Parisian sensibility, integrating the top end’s haute-couture charm and old-world opulence into the spatial design, while expressing the company’s commitment to client experience and service excellence.
Talk to Amanda Stanaway about Workplace Interiors
Elements of the building’s geometry, materiality and neoclassical detail wrap into the arrival spaces over two levels of generous lobby and meeting room suites. A cruciform floorplate emanates from a central stairwell, over which hangs a luminous skylight feature ceiling, adding light and generosity to the internal space.
Wide corridors with curated vistas unfold from the central stairwell, giving way to flexible service areas for gallery, entertainment and dining spaces.
A travertine spine and linished aluminium walls create a robust base for strong colour focal points in the form of contemporary art and high-quality furniture, creating moments of aesthetic delight. As a private wealth investor, Crestone sought to communicate through the interior language the idea of the value of well-informed investment in beauty and quality. The notion of “future classic” imbues the interior design, demonstrating how timeless pieces can endure and appreciate over generations.
LGT Crestone’s staff enjoy a warm, timber-lined cafe that corners the most coveted views across the bay. To the north, staff experience outlooks down Collins Street, while to the south, vistas overlook the landmark Botanic Gardens.
