A Bold Workplace Celebrating Culture and Creativity

Black Entertainment Television Interiors

Located in the heart of Times Square, this workplace suite integrates Black Entertainment Television (BET) with Viacom’s other entertainment brands in the global headquarters—adding to it as a hub for talent, creatives, and professionals. Spread over two floors, the space plays off that diverse ecosystem to create a distinctive, exciting, collaborative environment that celebrates the American television channel’s identity.

Project details

Executed on a fast-track schedule, the design sustainably repurposed the previous tenant’s build-out, delivering dramatic impact through strategic interventions. Bright environmental graphics—developed by Brand Studio—referencing contemporary street and pop art unify the multi-floor interiors. Its palette is intentionally understated and comprised of contrasting back and white surfaces with exposed ceilings and artistic, industrial lighting.

The open floor plan provides maximum access to light and views. Removing several perimeter rooms added to the loft-like environment, increasing transparency and connectivity among teammates. All remaining spaces, meant for conferences or executives, were fully renovated with upgraded furnishings and technology. Their clear glass office fronts are adorned with powerful quotes from iconic, African-American figures in culture and entertainment.
