Perth Studio Chair
Kukame is an award-winning architect and the Studio Chair of the Woods Bagot Perth studio. His approach to projects is collaborative and is underpinned by his capacity for strategic, effective creative thinking and leadership. Winner of 2019’s Western Australian Emerging Architect Prize for being “instrumental in the design and delivery of ‘city changing’ schemes”, Kukame is an architect whose practice is defined by a sense of responsibility to make places better. He has worked on a wide range of projects spanning transport, workplace, urban design, masterplanning, public architecture, education, community and residential – choosing to develop a portfolio that crosses a variety of sectors and typologies.
He is skilled at leading complex, large scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering effective and high-quality design outcomes. Kukame is actively involved in the education sector, teaching a Master of Architecture Design Studio at the University of Western Australia. He is a Committee Member of the Association of Consulting Architects and is an active member of the Australian Institute of Architects
