Overachieving at INDE.

We are incredibly proud to announce that four of our projects, across five categories, are shortlisted for the 2021 INDE.Awards.

The Building

In a category that recognises work that ushers in a “new direction for the future of architecture”, Collins Arch designed with SHoP Architects is a rare example of true mixed-use and Melbourne’s latest landmark.  Its shortlisting represents the continued celebration of Collins Arch, recently taking out the top prize for Commercial Architecture at the Australian Institute of Architects’ 2021 Victorian Architecture Awards.

The Work Space

The 35,000 sqm of adaptable workplace for NAB 3PS in Sydney’s second city of Paramatta is connected by the red thread staircase that has become the motif of Woods Bagot’s collaborations with NAB. Now home to 3000 NAB employees, the site delivers an authentic and agile work community.

The Social Space

A centerpiece of Woods Bagot’s 80 Collins precinct development, Next Hotel Melbourne is a tribute to its site. The design pays homage to its former life as a Horse Bazaar in the 1800s and references its ‘Paris End’ of Collins Street location as well as its proximity to Chinatown. The result is an opulent layering of jade-green marble, hide leather, detailed stitching and lacquer finishes.

The Shopping Space

It’s shortlisting in both ‘work space’ and ‘shopping space’ categories is indicative of Sculptform’s overachieving. Blurring the line between retail space and installation, this ‘working showroom’ is a sculptural journey into the brand’s materiality and bespoke philosophy.

Sculptform produces feature wall, ceiling, and façade systems, naturally they manufactured the undulating timber ceiling. What visitors will experience in the city showroom is a physical connection to their work – something that can’t be found online. The feature lighting is by Rakumba Lighting , who will share the space in a creative partnership between the two businesses.

A much-deserved congratulations to the project teams. The winners will be announced at the INDE.Awards gala event held on the 5th August in Sydney.
