Worlds Ahead: 25 Years of Design, Place and Impact in the Middle East In Partnership with Dubai Design District (d3)

Woods Bagot Celebrate 25 Years in the Middle East with Exhibition and Programme at Dubai Design Week, in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3).

Global architecture and design practice Woods Bagot will mark 25 years in the Middle East with a special exhibition and programme of events presented in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), the global creative hub that is part of TECOM Group, inviting the design community to explore how the region has transformed over the past quarter century and what might shape the next.

As a celebration of architecture – as part of Dubai Design Week – the Woods Bagot exhibition titled Worlds Ahead: 25 Years of Design, Place and Impact in the Middle East will go beyond a traditional retrospective to bring together projects, stories, ideas and voices from across the region. Key highlights will include the d3 façade story exploring the district’s iconic exterior that was the work of Woods Bagot, and a student design sprint in collaboration with the Canadian University Dubai.

Together, these activations will explore how changing cultures, technologies, lifestyles and ambitions have influenced the places people inhabit, and how design can contribute to more meaningful, connected futures. Alongside stories from Woods Bagot’s regional journey, the exhibition will feature contributions developed with clients, collaborators and industry leaders. Themes will range from the future of cities and emerging lifestyles to culture, wellbeing, community and the changing role of design in shaping human experience.

“This exhibition is ultimately about people rather than projects,” said Richard Fenne, Director, Woods Bagot. “The Middle East has become one of the world’s most exciting places for design and city-making. As we mark 25 years in the region we wanted to create something that encourages reflection, conversation and participation, bringing together different perspectives on how design can contribute to better lives and more connected communities.”

The exhibition programme will also feature a panel session dedicated to the talents of d3. Visitors will be invited to join discussions with designers, developers, cultural leaders and innovators, share their own perspectives through interactive elements, and take part in a collective exploration of how cities, communities and everyday experiences continue to evolve.

Woods Bagot’s partnership with d3 reflects a shared commitment to supporting creative dialogue and exchange across the region.

“Dubai Design Week brings a special opportunity each year for the design community and the wider public to come together,” said Samer Charara, Director, Woods Bagot. “We hope visitors leave with a deeper understanding of how the region has evolved, as well as new perspectives, new questions and a sense of optimism about what comes next.”

Open throughout Dubai Design Week, the Woods Bagot exhibition at d3 will offer visitors an opportunity to discover stories behind some of the region’s defining transformations, contribute their own views on the future, and join a wider conversation about what makes a meaningful life, a vibrant community and a thriving city.
