A considered statement of contemporary coastal living, designed with connection to light, landscape and bayside views.
Featuring 129 apartments above ground-floor retail, this bespoke development is designed to feel both calm and connected, engaging with the vibrant Hampton high street while sequestering residents in a tranquil urban oasis.
Low in scale, recessive in nature, the building is set back generously from the laneway to maintain the grain of the surrounding context.

The refined upper levels pull away from Hampton Street, clad in fine metal to break down the visual mass, while ground floor retail continues the commercial frontage on Hampton Street. The building subtly breaks down into two masses, with the unique façade articulation presenting to the street as two discrete forms, reducing the building’s sense of scale at street level.
The uppermost levels are completely recessive, pulling away from the street so as not to overshadow, and to offer absolute privacy to penthouse buyers. This also creates an incredible terrace overlooking the bay and city in the distance.
The architecture blends the coastal lifestyle of its beachside location with the urban influences of the Hampton Street retail village. Using limited materiality in an earthly palette, the interiors to embody the sentiments of elegant simplicity and restraint.
Natural touchpoints and soft landscaping create a sense of tranquillity, with a lightwell courtyard and reflection pool in the ground-floor lobby ushering natural light into the space.
Robust and calm, understated and timeless – these were characteristics architects sought to embody in the design. Applying a limited materiality in an earthy palette, designers reinforce this concept of elegant simplicity and restraint. The choice of precast fair-faced concrete and light toned brickwork as primary materials achieves a sense of permanence, endurance, and quiet luxury.
“At Woods Bagot, our architects and interior designers work hand in hand,” says Woods Bagot Principal and Global Residential Sector Leader Ana Sa. “One of the privileges of delivering both the architecture and interiors is our ability to cohesively bring these elements together for a wholistic and resolved end result.
“At Hampton Hill, internal finishes echo the external palette; the two-tone concrete and brickwork of the facade becomes the ash timber and stone benchtop in the kitchen. Interior schemes mimic the tones of the bay, from the integration of soft seafoam shades to the bleached timber of the Hampton Pier. These complement the textured concrete and sandstone tones of the exterior façade, referencing the site’s seaside charm.”
The warmth of the timber soffits to the balconies is drawn into the timber floors throughout the residences. Juliet balconies on the upper floors act as a threshold between outside and in, and usher the outdoor elements into the living spaces.
Outside, the precast concrete podium features an expressed vertical grid in the facade. This geometry is continued in the interior spaces through gridded frames in the bespoke joinery and fine metal detailing in the Juliet balconies, continuing this sense of verticality, symmetry and rhythm.
