Join us in New York for a night of culture, innovation, and the intersection of tech and urban design in an electrified, green future. Come for the book talk, stay for the refreshments!
Rizzoli Bookstore and global studio Woods Bagot are hosting a talk with New York Times’s Julie Lasky on Friday. She joins Renewing the Dream: The Mobility Revolution and The Future of Los Angeles’ book editor, James Sanders, and West Coast design leader, Matt Ducharme, to explore tech, electrification, and urban design through the lens of community and culture in major cities like Los Angeles and New York.
The event runs from 6-8 pm (EDT) on November 3rd, 2023, at Rizzoli Bookstore in The St. James Building at 1133 Broadway, New York, NY 10010. The cross streets are 25th and 26th Street on Broadway. The venue is close to the MTA 23rd and 28th Street Stations on the NQRW lines and the 6 train.
Enjoy a social hour of refreshments and connection. Free RSVPs at bookstore@Rizzoliusa.com.
The Woods Bagot global team and place-making consultancy ERA-co contributed case studies exploring the continual impact of transport electrification, the re-appropriation and adaptability of previous vacant parking lots, and the contextual reimagination of conventional gas stations through immersive, flexible, and tech-driven designs.
“Los Angeles is a polycentric city that launched suburbia around the emancipation of mobility. It has much to offer global metropolises as it deals with its deep-seated car culture and moves towards electrification,” says Woods Bagot CEO Nik Karalis. “Mobility is still one of the most compelling arguments for sustainable development and imagining how we will all live and travel.”
From its beautiful illustrations to its substantive contributions to the Angeleno mobility landscape, Renewing the Dream is the coolest book you can own this year.
The book is available at Rizzoli International Publications and bookstores nationwide. Get your copy here.
