Workplace design – ABN Headquarters wins more accolades

ABN Group’s landmark workplace and retail showroom, featuring interiors designed by Woods Bagot, has been further acknowledged at the Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards for Western Australia.

Builder PACT Construction took out the Best Building Fitout in the $20 million to $50 million range and Best Retail Building between $5 million to $10 million.

Melanie Porrins, Senior Associate at Woods Bagot, said PACT deserved every accolade for their high-quality work on the project.

“Woods Bagot worked closely with PACT Construction to deliver the new interior fit-out for ABN Group HQ in Leederville,” Ms Porrins said.

“Their attention to detail and diligence in ensuring the specific design intent and level of finish despite many challenges was exceptional. There were many bespoke elements requiring extensive sampling and prototyping that PACT took the time and effort to get right. They delivered an end product of very high quality, and we were extremely pleased with the final result.”

ABN is a leading home builder, property and finance company that used the construction of its West Leederville headquarters to consolidate disparate business divisions in a single, modern office.

Amanda Stanaway, Global Leader of Workplace Interiors at Woods Bagot, said the fitout reflects ABN’s passion for building, commitment to quality, sense of fun, and desire to provide a warm and friendly experience for staff and clients.

“Staff are working in a highly mobile manner, able to have choice of furniture settings, from standing height open meeting, traditional meeting, lounge style meetings and collaborative settings; with the majority having AV integrated into the spaces to make them more flexible and usable,” she said.

The purpose-built headquarters is a six-storey mixed-use commercial building incorporating Home Collective, a retail showroom facing onto Vincent Street.

It also won headline awards at the FX Awards, the Shaw Contract Design Awards and the International Interior Design Association Global Excellence Awards.
