The innovative commercial tower Heritage Lanes 80 Ann Street, designed by Woods Bagot, has taken home multiple honours from the 2023 Greater Brisbane Regional Awards.

Hosted by the Queensland Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects, the Greater Brisbane Regional Awards night ran for the third year in the award’s history, held at Cloudland on Friday 19 May.

Heritage Lanes 80 Ann Street, Suncorp’s new Brisbane headquarters, received the 2023 Lord Mayor’s ‘Brisbane Buildings that Breathe’ architecture prize.

The former fruit market turned commercial office building was also recognised in two awards categories, for ‘Interior Architecture’ and ‘Urban Design Architecture’.

“The double volume of the entry plaza visually connects indoors to outdoors and creates a hybrid subtropical experience,” the jury said.

“A combination of the warm material palette, food and coffee retail outlets, subtropical landscaping, seating areas, and dramatic high-tech artwork form a welcome public plaza that surprisingly reconnects two streets in the heart of the city.”

All commended projects in the Regional Awards series will progress to the Queensland Chapter State Awards for consideration.

Congratulations to the wider team and our collaborators Mirvac, ASPECT Studios, Suncorp Group and M&G Real Estate.
