Holding the distinction of the Center for Active Design’s Fitwel “Best in Building Health® 2021” Award and AIA San Francisco’s 2022 People’s Choice Award, Woods Bagot’s Harvey Milk Terminal 1 at SFO adds another honor, the 2022 International Partnering Institute (IPI) Diamond Level Award, to its growing list of achievements. The recognition acknowledges the team-driven process that brought the building into existence as one of the industry’s most collaborative.
Inspired by the design of California’s picturesque landscapes, Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is choreographed as an episodic journey, shaped by themes of Bay Area Naturalism and the beauty of its regional environment. As a large project made from many small, interconnected experiences, the terminal promotes discovery and delight through moments heightened by the intuitiveness of the architecture, integration of wayfinding, and crafting of local materials to guide guests from landside to airside.
