The Cube

Sustainable landmark elevating Qianjiang New Town’s commercial and cultural appeal.

Hangzhou Riverside Center

The Hangzhou Riverside Center is a landmark commercial complex that unites two office towers and a retail podium in a cohesive urban ecosystem. Inspired by the Rubik’s Cube, its rotated volumes, sunken plazas and green terraces create movement and connection across the public realm while reflecting Hangzhou’s cultural heritage through sustainable design.

Project details

Positioned within Qianjiang New Town, Hangzhou’s emerging financial hub, the Hangzhou Riverside Center strengthens the district’s role as a headquarters destination for Fortune 500 companies and major financial institutions. Directly connected to Jinjiang Station, the development spans 110,000 square metres and comprises two 18-storey office towers, including the Hangzhou City Investment Tower, linked by a four-storey retail podium. The composition of offset volumes creates a distinctive city presence while opening the ground plane to sunken plazas, landscaped terraces and active public space.

Emphasising sustainability and cultural resonance, the design achieves LEED Gold pre-certification and integrates vertical greenery and a Zen-inspired courtyard that extends from the main lobby. Together, these elements promote wellbeing, community and connection to nature, shaping a vibrant urban centre that advances both the liveability and identity of Qianjiang New Town.
