About the Role

Based in our New York Studio, this senior role will lead airport terminal planning and layout development across pursuits and active projects. You will translate complex aviation planning data into clear, efficient, and buildable architectural solutions.

This position also plays a key role in growing Woods Bagot’s aviation portfolio across North America. You will contribute to pursuits, RFP/RFQ submissions, and target account planning, working closely with studio leadership and national teams to strengthen our market presence and client relationships.

Key areas of Responsibility:

  • Lead airport terminal layout and plan development for Woods Bagot New York aviation pursuits and projects
  • Translate airport/terminal planning data (forecasts, peak-hour flows, LOS targets, gate demand, holdroom sizing, baggage and curb metrics) into clear planning direction
  • Generate and test alternative terminal typologies documenting pros/cons and operational impacts
  • Organize terminal processors and support spaces into efficient, code-compliant, operationally sound configurations
  • Collaborate seamlessly within WB’s multi-disciplinary design teams and with airport stakeholders, operators, airlines, and specialty consultants to align planning, architecture, and delivery
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of commercial aircraft characteristics and translate that into concept-level airside planning: gate sizing, stand planning, taxi lane clearances, and airfield tie-ins
  • Produce comprehensive concept layouts (airside + landside + terminal) that support a compelling design narrative and can be advanced into detailed documentation
  • Be integral in Woods Bagot New York’s aviation business development efforts, coordinating with North America and other studios to support a unified pursuit strategy
  • Contribute to target account planning across airport owners, operators, airlines, developers, and PM/CM partners, including relationship mapping, research, and meeting preparation
  • Play a key role in RFP/RFQ responses by supporting kickoff coordination, drafting technical and planning content, assembling past performance, and contributing to interview preparation
  • Participate in annual aviation growth planning by supporting market research, helping define priority targets, and tracking business development KPIs and progress
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of projects, including client liaison and stakeholder coordination
  • Manage project programs to ensure timely, commercially sound, and high-quality outcomes
  • Maintain a hands-on role across documentation and delivery phases as required, setting quality benchmarks for the team
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a high-performance, design-focused studio culture

About You
