Principal, Regional Design Leader - Asia
Steve’s passion for design spans building typologies and has led him to work on projects in dozens of cities around the world. His intent is to always create projects that positively impact people’s lives and the global environment with a special interest in high-density, mixed-use projects for their efficient footprints. As Regional Director for the firm’s three Asia studios, Steve works closely with leaders and teams to drive design excellence. Drawing on years of experience, he promotes the region’s sustainability agenda and sees its implementation both in conception and practice. In addition to the Kunming Shangri La Hotel, current projects include the Nanjing Taikang Hospital and Haikou’s New Ecological District of Jiangdong in Zhejiang, China. In both cases, sustainability is a key driver in the overall design.
Steve is frequently invited to speak at influential conferences and at universities around the world—including the Tall Building Summit CITAB Conference in Shenzhen, the Wuhan Super High-Rise Summit and the Shimao Shenzhen launch and press conference—and recently served as a juror for the Architecture MasterPrize Awards and the 2019 Architizer A + Awards.
