About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Leader to join our Sydney Studio and play a key role in the successful design and delivery of major aviation and infrastructure projects across Australia and the broader region. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Architect who combines strong design capability with proven project leadership skills. You will lead projects from concept design through to delivery, ensuring design excellence is maintained throughout all project stages while successfully managing programme, budget, stakeholder, and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead aviation and infrastructure projects through all project stages, from concept design and design development through to documentation, construction, and completion.
• Champion design excellence, ensuring the original design vision is maintained and successfully translated through delivery.
• Provide design leadership during project pursuits, concept development, client presentations, and key design reviews.
• Lead project teams to deliver innovative, high-quality architectural outcomes that respond to client, user, and operational requirements.
• Manage project resources, budgets, schedules, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, authorities, and project partners.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, design coordination, and project review meetings.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, regulatory frameworks, and project governance processes.
• Monitor project performance and proactively identify and resolve project challenges.
• Support business development activities, client relationship management, and project pursuits.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering both design capability and project delivery excellence within the studio.

About You

You are an accomplished Architectural Project Leader with a proven track record leading both the design and delivery of complex, large-scale projects. Equally comfortable in front of clients, leading design reviews, or managing technical delivery, you bring a balanced skill set that combines creative leadership, commercial awareness, and project execution.

You are passionate about architecture and design quality, while also possessing the technical expertise and leadership skills required to successfully deliver complex projects in challenging stakeholder environments.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 15+ years’ experience designing and delivering complex architectural projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading projects through all phases, from concept design through to construction completion.
• Strong design capability with experience leading design teams, client presentations, workshops, and design reviews.
• Demonstrated experience delivering major aviation projects, including airports, terminal developments, transport hubs, or related infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale, design-led projects with multiple stakeholders and complex coordination requirements.
• Experience working on aviation, transportation, civic, mixed-use, commercial, or other major infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of design management, consultant coordination, project planning, procurement, and contract administration.
• Excellent design leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree qualification in Architecture; professional registration or chartership is desirable.
• Experience working within Australia and a strong understanding of local project delivery processes, procurement models, and regulatory requirements.
• A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring, developing, and inspiring team members.
• Strong appreciation of design quality, technical excellence, and the delivery of innovative architectural solutions.
