The Xiangjiang Fortune Finance Center (FFC) is a collaborative effort between Woods Bagot’s San Francisco and Beijing studios, comprising of 600,000 square meters of mixed-use space across four towers in Changsha’s new central business district.
The focal point of the development is a 328-meter-tall landmark tower. The structure will become the city’s third tallest building in its skyline, with another smaller, but geometrically similar, tower alongside it standing at 240 meters. Together, these two buildings create a gateway from Changsha’s historic city center to its new financial district. To link the four tower-development, a retail podium spanning across the east and west plots was integrated within the site. To avoid impacting other neighboring buildings, the design team devised the arrival and departure areas to be able to accommodate a large amount of pedestrian traffic, since it is planned to be used for large events. The mixed-use towers will house commercial offices, a hotel space, and residential units and aim to achieve three different sustainability goals: China Green 3 Stars, LEED Gold, and BREEAM Excellent rating.
Construction of the towers started in January 2015 and is scheduled to open by the end of 2020.
