InterContinental Hong Kong

Updates to Chinese Hotel's Interiors Reflect Contemporary Luxury Brand

The redesign of the InterContinental Hong Kong’s ballroom, lobby and lobby lounge is a welcomed and refreshing redesign of one of the most well-known and established hotels in southeastern China.

From the hotel lobby, guests can enjoy views of Victoria Harbour through wraparound, three-storey plate glass windows. The movement of the nearby water and the skyline is further complemented by materials and architectural forms. The rich, detailed carpet designs mimic waves, which also resonate with strong reflective vertical forms that can be seen in the backdrops to the reception and concierge areas as well as in the detailing of the service counters.  Through this design, the hotel is subtly enhanced rather than trying to compete with the skyline views.
