Tim Melville

Auckland Studio Chair

Tim Melville is Auckland Studio Chair for Woods Bagot.

He joined the business in early 2023 after a two-year stint as Chief Advisor – National Design Assurance at the Ministry of Education of New Zealand – and is a past president of Te Kāhui Whaihanga/New Zealand Institute of Architects.

His business experience includes co-founding his own successful architecture firm, working in senior roles with several of New Zealand’s leading practices, and he brings an impressive professional network and deep local industry knowledge to this key role.

He works closely with studio leaders to build on the company’s strong growth since Woods Bagot opened its Auckland studio in early 2021 after previously operating in Christchurch.

Tim has more than 30 years’ experience as an architect in both New Zealand and also the United Kingdom.

A multiple award winner, he was worked across the education, mixed-use, civic and residential sectors.
