Ram Brewery

Ram Brewery is the First Greenland Project in London.

Woods Bagot has been appointed by Greenland UK to develop the design of RAM Brewery Phase II at Wandsworth in London. The site comprises of four new residential buildings of 6, 7, 12 and 35-storeys including a health club, communal garden and private external amenity spaces. All buildings have retail offerings at ground floor level to activate the public realm. In addition, the brewery has a listed stables block dating back to the 1850s which is being renovated and converted to retail.

Original features such as cast iron stable stalls are being preserved. An attached double height extension will form a significant retail offer facing the main road surrounding the site. RAM Brewery is the first Greenland project in London.

Utilising natural features

Review and analysis of the consented buildings 4 to 9. Highlighting opportunities to improve design and salability. Strategic reorganisation of the buildings to best place apartments according to view, daylight, access to external amenity and general saleability. Exploring the addition of winter gardens & recessed balconies into larger units without materially changing the external appearance of the buildings. Design of communal amenity provision to increase the desirability of units without dedicated balconies. Review of facade alteration and improvements to suit the design development within the buildings while developing a sophisticated language of materiality. Exploring strategies to convert a market residential building into affordable housing. The distribution of retail across the site to best utilise natural features and activate the ground plane.
