Senior Studio Accountant

About the Role

The role of the Senior Studio Accountant is to manage activities relating to project and management accounting, financial accounting and the studio’s administration, and to provide business and management support to studio, project and stream leaders and project managers across the Sydney Hub (Sydney, Brisbane and Perth Studios).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partner to the studio leadership and staff
  • Project management and month end incl. WIP/Project accounting, forecast submission, timesheets preparation, oversight and review, WIP/Revenue Take Up
  • Reporting Pack/Dashboard
  • Debtors/Invoices/Cash
  • Accounts payable
  • Bid process
  • Studio report/support management
  • Group finance submissions/requirements/queries
  • Quarterly doubtful and WIP review
  • Annual financial budget and business planning
  • Financial audit
  • Studio administration

About You

You are an experienced finance professional, with strong project accounting and commercial experience, that can add value and business partner with studio leadership.

The successful candidate will be proactive, collaborative and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

You will need to be able to prioritise tasks and manage your time effectively as well as having strong attention to detail with rigorous follow up skills.

You will be part of a highly-effective accounts team, so you will need to work well in a group environment, but also confident working autonomously and able to take the initiative.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce required.
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a professional services firm (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) is a benefit.
  • Experience in project accounting and project management.
  • At least 5 years’ accounting experience.
  • Experience in using accounting/ERP software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, invoicing and billing procedures.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.
  • Experience with BST an advantage.
  • Certified CPA/CA, highly desirable.
