Woods Bagot is hiring a Special Projects Lead to work as part of a global research and development team focused on technical innovation and design technology. We are interested in individuals with backgrounds in both architecture and technology, and specifically the use of an ecosystem of technologies to design, collaborate, communicate, and deliver architecture and interiors projects.

Woods Bagot will drive a workflow and technology ecosystem with an agile stance, moving beyond what is provided by a previously platform-centric technology culture. This new ecosystem elevates collaboration, communication, and data flow across the entire project lifecycle to be first-class citizens in design and project delivery.

The position will lead the research, development, prototyping, and deployment of initiatives that may include:

  • Workflow automation and modeling agility tools, working with the software development team
  • Exploration and implementation of new project information systems, including new ways to harness data to better understand our processes and products.
  • Project communication, review, and collaboration platforms
  • The application of project management platforms and methodologies, including Agile and Lean, to architectural projects
  • Model and data-driven delivery methodologies
  • Collaborative VR/AR implementations on projects
  • Creation of new design and experiential client services

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic projects on behalf of the Design Technology Team
  • Working with key global stakeholders (studio and sector leadership, design leadership), contribute to the strategic development of Woods Bagot’s design and delivery capabilities by researching and developing innovative new methodologies and technologies.
  • Strategically assist and collaborate with the Global Design Technology Team to deploy and support new software plugins, applications, and web environments.
  • Develop and promote Woods Bagot’s reputation for design technology expertise and quality project delivery, including participation in industry events and technical forums

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related discipline
  • Experience delivering architecture or interiors projects is preferred
  • Strong experience in the application of technology workflows to design projects
  • Experience working with software development teams in agile delivery is an added benefit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability use time effectively, maximise efficiency, and meet challenging goals
  • Ability to determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and independently
