The Role

The purpose of this role is to support and implement the in-house risk management needs of the global Woods Bagot and ERA-co business. Reporting to the Global Leader – Risk, you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Woods Bagot Risk Management Framework and related activities across the global Woods Bagot studio. As this role will be supporting the global risk management function in its everyday activities, you can also expect to have regular contact with other functions and key stakeholders across the business.

Working closely with the Global Risk Leader, you will be assisting in the consistent application, management and reporting of risks at across Woods Bagot, by contributing to the development and preparation of transparent, forward-looking risk reports; and ensuring that high-quality, relevant and consistent information is provided to key stakeholders, including Principals and Directors, to oversee and manage risk and to facilitate decision-making, including Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reporting, risk tolerances and appetites.

Your Responsibilities

As the Risk Management Specialist, you will support the Global Leader – Risk across a range of activities, including:

  • Developing and coordinating the global Woods Bagot Health and Safety program
  • Overseeing the risk management of our design and architectural projects and developing relevant reporting templates for the business to supply this information
  • Developing and testing the Woods Bagot Continuity Framework
  • Contract and commercial analysis to identify and mitigate risks  
  • Drafting risk management-related communications for distribution to the global business
  • Providing relevant Risk Management reporting within Woods Bagot e.g. for the Global Executive, Audit and Risk Committee
  • Incident investigation to identify improvement opportunities and to mitigate risk (as required)
  • Developing the Enterprise Risk Management framework
  • Responding to risk management related queries from across the global business
  • Monitoring the global environment for risk management-related regulatory / legislative changes and developing appropriate response plans

Qualifications and Experience

You will bring a real passion for risk management and health and safety, working in a small, high performing and collaborative team. You’ll also be skilled at juggling competing priorities while also building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • 2-5 years’ experience (or equivalent) working in a similar Risk role ideally acquired in a global architecture or design, property or construction, financial services, and/or an industry which has tangible operational risk issues such as Mining, Infrastructure, FMCG or Utilities would be ideal.
  • Intermediate hands-on knowledge of how to use Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook). Technological adaptability is beneficial
  • The demonstrated ability to think critically when extracting and interpreting information; to analyse data to identify trends and risks, and to think laterally about issues
  • High level attention to detail, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • A mindset which enables you to multitask and manage time effectively, whether it is collecting or analysing data for reporting purposes or ‘putting in the hard yards’ as the need arises
  • An ability to effectively develop and maintain effective relationships and communicate with senior leaders and key stakeholders, and work with people at all levels, and relate well to people from varied backgrounds and in different situations
  • Professional writing and verbal communication skills in addition to active listening skills
  • An ability to work as part of a global team and as well as independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to attend multi-jurisdictional meetings across multiple time zones
