About the role

Our Urban Design team is growing in the UK, and we are looking for a passionate Mid-Senior Urban Designer to join our busy London Studio.

Our work is design based and holistic in its approach, drawing together disciplines of architecture, landscapes, ecology, planning and engagement to foster adaptation and resilience. Working on a range of diverse project types and scales, you will be part of an ambitious and high performing team with a focus on the future of our cities and the people and communities that make them tick. We tackle today’s pressing challenges while keeping our sights on the next century’s. Whether it involves adaptation for a changing climate, giving a voice to unheard communities or envisioning new ones, you will play an active part in shaping our work and our voice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have excellent concept and design detail skills
  • Have excellent visualization and graphic skills
  • Strong time management skills in fast paced and interdisciplinary workplace
  • Good understanding of Masterplanning concepts, best practice and principles
  • Ability to manage project coordination and organize sub-consultants
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior staff members
  • Support generation of new client work and engagement, have interest in developing good business development skills and relationships
  • Good understanding of DMP (detailed masterplan) process and deliverables
  • Flexible and Open attitude to new ways of working
  • Positive, proactive and friendly attitude to working and teamwork
  • Self-motivated and can take initiative under minimal guidance
  • Collaborative design approach
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong client management and presentation skills
  • Developing high-quality 2D & 3D models in Rhino and drawings for concept masterplans and urban design strategies.
  • Ability to communicating design work through sketches, diagrams and drawings.

About you

  • Professional Degree in Arch or Landscape Arch with Masters in Urban Design
  • 6-8 Years Experience in Medium/Large scale urban design and masterplanning projects (experience in Middle east is a plus)
  • Experience in Project Management and Design Lead roles
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (Arabic a positive)
  • Strong skills in Rhino and Adobe Suite
  • Good understanding of grasshopper
