About the role

Wood Bagot are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our team as Group Management Accountant. The role will provide critical management support to business leaders, insightful reporting into our global business, improve reporting processes and work as an important member of the group finance team.

About you

We are looking for a CPA/CA Qualified Accountant who has a strong background in financial and management reporting.

Individuals may be experienced working in the relevant industry as a management accountant, in the Big 4 or mid-tier with experience with private clients, driving dashboard and internal reporting improvements.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience with financial and management reporting, including dashboards, tables, analysis, and report writing.
  • Ability to critically assess outputs to provide value-add to business and management.
  • Advanced/Expert excel skills including maintaining financial models, simplifying complex data through pivot tables and improving processes. Writing/comprehending excel formulas is essential (a brief assessment to test these skills will be requested in advance of an interview). Writing intermediate macros is a bonus but not critical.
  • Experience with BST Enterprise system is a bonus (ERP system).
  • Experience in a professional service firm, architectural, engineering or project environment is also preferred.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Be proactive, collaborative and have problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks & manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail with rigorous follow up.
  • Team player but also able to works autonomously and take initiative.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key areas of responsibility:

Working with our Financial Controller and Global CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for Group management reporting, in particular:

  • Accurate monthly Group and Regional reporting – financial results, project profitability, sector activity, studio performance etc.
  • Accurate KPI reporting and analysis (Pipeline, Sector, Utilisation and Collaboration).
  • Financial partnering and assistance with Support Service Leaders to track costs, analyse results & prepare budgets.
  • Support COO in managing Shareholder performance KPI’s and reporting.
  • Ensure global reporting timetable is communicated and adhered to.
  • Run month end GL close and reconciliation.
  • Work with the financial controller to coordinate the annual global budgeting process, in particular, managing the integrity of the budget model workbooks & consolidation model.
  • Assist in preparation of analysis and reports for the business’ monthly leadership meeting and quarterly Board meeting.
  • Reporting and process improvement including PowerBI reports.
  • Ability to assist in other finance functions and tasks.
