Interior Architect – Project Manager

Woods Bagot North America is seeking to identify a strong candidate that possesses exceptional Project Management skills, proven leadership, experience on large scale design projects, ability to solve technical issues, work collaboratively with others through the conceptualization of ideas in a highly connected environment.  Detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive and well-rounded professional who can lead a team in the production of high-quality interiors projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 15 or more years of experience and progressive responsibilities in all phases of interior architecture and substantial experience in the innovative design of complex, small and large-scale workplace
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of architectural design, detailing, building materials, building codes, construction techniques, coordination of consultants and costs.
  • Assist to write proposals for new work and additional services on existing projects as well as respond to requests for qualifications and proposals.
  • Manages project fee (responsible for project projections, profitability, additional services and resource management)
  • Manage project scope and schedules to ensure execution and delivery based on executed proposal or contract; notify clients of add-services as appropriate.
  • Monitor project performance and take proactive action to ensure projects are meeting or exceeding financial performance objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction
  • Work with resource planning and finance staff to ensure future project resources are maintained throughout the life of the project within Woods Bagot’s platforms.
  • Provide contract administration and negotiation support to the principals and senior staff.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and milestones to ensure the project is on time.
  • Maintain client communications and contact, in particular for the scope of work and obtain necessary client approvals.
  • Conduct team meetings with staff and other key project team members to go over financial, schedule and operational milestones.
  • Review and approve project expenses such as employee time, employee expenses, and project costs including sub-consultants.
  • Management of project risk within the parameters established by Woods Bagot.
  • Mentor staff to help build well-rounded professional skills and awareness
  • Expertise in putting together well-coordinated full sets of construction documents.
  • Manages project fee (responsible for project projections, profitability, additional services and resource management)
  • Thorough understanding/fluency with building codes (alt 1 filings, DOB process etc..)
