The Role

The role of the Architecture Leader – Southeast Asia (SEA) is to provide a high-level of design, leadership for winning and delivering key projects across the region.

This role requires someone who has a true passion for quality design as well as an entrepreneurial spirit that supports the building of new and existing client relationships. Enthusiasm to grow and build a dynamic studio culture.

The ideal candidate has strong existing client relationships, experience leading and mentoring teams, and have a track record of high-quality conceptual design work and a built portfolio of large mixed-use architectural projects across Southeast Asia. The role will require a hands-on and collaborative approach and the ability to develop and articulate creative design concepts within a team environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the management and performance of Design within the Singapore Studio.
  • Actively participate in Business Development, leverage existing contracts in the region to open new opportunities for Woods Bagot.
  • Lead major bids throughout the South East Asia region.
  • Travel regionally to support business development and delivery of projects
  • Be responsible for the resources and revenue management of projects and support the studio practice management goals and procedures
  • Work within the Studio Executive Chair to ensure effective operations across studio
  • Build a strongly integrated Design team.
  • Be a mentor for Designers and Architects in the Studio.
  • Monitor and lead design gateway reviews.
  • Quarterly reporting to the design council on the design performance of major projects of the studios.
  • Champion a studio culture through studio design reviews, events, and processes
  • Represent Woods Bagot in the community and industry events

About You:

  • International Registered Architect with a minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Degree in Architecture (minimum requirement)
  • Strong track record of delivering projects within the South- East Asia and Singapore region
  • Minimum of 5 yrs experience of working in South- East Asia/Singapore region
  • Ability to lead the preparation and presentation of bids and pitches
  • Strong local and regional market knowledge and business sense
  • Ability to build and maintain successful client relationships
  • Strong conceptual design, communication, and presentation skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a ‘hands-on’ approach
  • Previous experience working at an international design consultancy
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Confidence with building strong teams and promoting planned succession
