Architect / Project Manager

About the Role

The role of the Architect / Project Manager (PM) is to be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of complex projects, leading teams of internal and external designers. The Architect / PM will contribute to achieving the vision and objectives of Woods Bagot by assisting in providing strong project management skills. Utilising all the available support services, the Architect / PM will ensure the projects are managed within Woods Bagot procedures in an accountable and transparent way. This role may also provide contract administrative and technical support where required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Technical input into the developing design, including Woods Bagot’s deliverables and those of the wider design team.
  • Focus on the smooth management of the project process, ensuring clarity of requirements, deliverables, timelines and visibility against fees.
  • Prepare, communicate, and monitor project programmes, budgets, and deliverables for client and internal teams.
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with interiors, structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, civil and other consultants.
  • Management of documentation flow, review, approvals, and sign-off processes.
  • Ensuring design is compliant with client brief, statutory requirements, Woods Bagot’s procedures, and other applicable standards.
  • Preparation and updating of project documentation and reports.
  • Monitoring project budget, cost and disbursement tracking for invoicing to client.
  • Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements. − Management of scope changes, fee variations and project issues.
  • Maintenance of project delivery within budget.
  • Control of financial management of projects, including resourcing, and management of appointed sub-contractors.
  • Management of project risk within the parameters established by Woods Bagot.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation and issue of invoices to clients and collection of debts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualification within the Architectural field.
  • High attention to detail with rigorous follow-up to ensure that projects are kept on track and any issues identified and addressed as early as possible.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including effective listening and an ability to motivate others.
  • Team leadership, management and recruitment experience, with the ability to recognise when team members may need additional professional or personal support.
  • Comfortable and effective in managing and communicating with virtual teams across geographies and time zones.
  • Experience in mentoring and training senior professionals in project management skills.
  • Knowledge of International project delivery, including BIM protocols and collaborative working across regions.
