The Role

This role offers a strong opportunity for growth, allowing you to take ownership of defined components within mid‑ to large‑scale interior design projects while developing your skills across design, documentation, and project coordination. As an Interior Designer, you will support Project Leaders and senior designers in progressing design concepts, preparing spatial planning and schematic options, and producing well‑coordinated Revit documentation.

You will work with increasing independence on small‑to‑medium tasks, exercising judgment within defined guidelines and seeking support when needed. The role requires a positive, professional, and proactive approach, with the ability to communicate design ideas clearly, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and apply Woods Bagot’s design processes, technical systems, and Global Studio principles with consistency and care.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist Senior Interior Designers and Project Leaders with spatial planning, test fits, and developing design concepts.
  • Prepare presentations and documentation for design development, including drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Produce accurate Revit documentation with growing independence, following studio standards.
  • Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and engineering services as required.
  • Support day‑to‑day project coordination, including client interactions when directed.
  • Take ownership of small‑to‑medium tasks, seeking guidance when needed and progressing work steadily.
  • Maintain organised project information and contribute to smooth team workflows.
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborative studio activities.

 

About you:

As the successful candidate, you bring a growing foundation of Interior Design experience, along with a strong eye for design and attention to detail. You are curious, motivated, and eager to continue developing your technical and creative capability.

You build positive relationships with colleagues, consultants, and clients, and contribute to a supportive, professional team culture. With a proactive and organised approach, you are committed to learning, improving, and delivering your best work.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 4-7 years’ experience in Interior Design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • Strong Revit skills, capable of documenting interiors packages independently
  • Proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop; Rhino and Enscape (or similar) advantageous
  • Understanding of fit‑out detailing and Australian building regulations
  • The ability to produce clear and logical written communication and presentations in English.
