The University of the Arts, London is relocating to a new campus in Kings Cross. Woods Bagot developed preliminary design proposals to understand the sites potential for redevelopment.
The Central St. Martins site is strategically located between the City and the West End in the "Mid City" corridor. Popular destinations such as Covent Garden and The British Museum are loacted nearby.
Opportunities for a mixed-use scheme incorporating the existing Grade II* Lethaby campus building were explored. The setting of the listed building, the public realm and historical street patterns all contribute to the design approach.
The study proposal resolves the current site and layout, and proposes contemporary development with office, residential and a luxury hotel.
