Arup and Woods Bagot were commissioned to develop an Engineering Accommodation Master Plan that supported this vision, and provided an optimum teaching and learning environment, a sense of place and community, and recognised the Campus 2020 Master Plan.

The preferred solution elevates Engineering within the campus and within the Sydney context. It brings multiple schools together as a teaching and research synergy hub, focusing on (renewable) energy. It also creates an interactive building environment which becomes a teaching tool to track the energy performance of the Faculty’s facilities.

The masterplan is underpinned by an organisational model that creates an environment to share common spaces such as labs, design and teaching spaces; and provides spaces to encourage cross-disciplinary teaching and research.
