Single Leap Phase 1 Holsworthy, Enoggera, RAAF Amberley

Woods Bagot was selected as part of a consortium by the Plenary Group, as the owner and sponsor of Plenary Living, for a public-private partnership (PPP), to provide accommodation for the Australian Defence Department.

In this first phase, Single LEAP Phase One, 1,400 self-contained units will be built at Holsworthy, NSW, and Enogerra and RAAF’s Amberley base in Queensland, to a contract value of $275 million. Defence’s Project Brief was to upgrade the quality of accommodation to attract more young people to the armed forces.

Woods Bagot’s significant experience in Defence, established design reputation and resources to tackle a project of this nature, enabled Plenary Living to provide an architectural solution that recognises Defence’s needs while maintaining design integrity. The design solution is low cost and meets all functional requirements whilst providing distinctive appeal which makes each accommodation unit and broader precinct a place that soldiers are proud to call home.

The solution goes beyond the Project Brief to deliver the best value for money solution for Defence while providing a safe, friendly and reassuring place for young service men and women to live.
