Queensland Health appointed the Project Team to undertake Preliminary Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Documentation to be issued for Tender and Construction, for the expansion of health care facilities at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH).

The design works has been divided into three stages, reflecting redevelopment of the Emergency Department and Radiation Oncology Services; provision of a structure to allow relocation of the Emergency Medical Retrievals Helipad, future development of Day Medical and Surgical Services, and expansion of inpatient bed capacity; and re-development of Cancer Services.
