Woods Bagot has designed three key public spaces for Hilton DoubleTree, London (formerly Mint Hotel): City Café, the Main Restaurant, Fenchurch Lounge, the Ground Floor Bar and Sky Lounge - a glass and steel box perched on the 12th floor with 360 degree views out on to the Thames and the Tower of London.
The Hilton DoubleTree ethos of ‘less is more’ is reflected in the use of architectural space and core materials such as concrete, plaster and timber. Woods Bagot embraced this approach while adding an element of luxury to the design, allowing the spaces to easily transform from breakfast to business dining through to stand alone destination venues by night.
