Designed to reflect the ultimate in high rise residential lifestyle, the Michael Schumacher World Champion Tower will rise 66 stories above its waterfront location within the Central Business District (CBD) on Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, in a striking composition of sweeping curves and vertical gesture reminiscent of the aerodynamics of a Formula One racing car. The building emerges from the water as three feet supporting the main body of the tower, which transitions into an elegant petal form at the crown.  

Woods Bagot has been engaged to provide Lead Design Consultancy services for the duration of the project.  

As the name suggests, this project will be a branded building, aimed at creating a destination like no other in the United Arab Emirates. The building offers unique luxury duplex and triplex apartments around the base of the building and luxury penthouse apartments at the peak. Intermediate levels will provide a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and lofts. With accommodation for exclusive private boat berths and a private boat club with automated storage for up to 40 mid-sized power boats available for resident use, the development offers a very unique luxury proposition simply defined as ‘Luxury Mobility’.

In line with the sustainable aspirations of the design team, the project is currently being considered for Pilot Project status with the newly developed Estidama Pearl rating system in Abu Dhabi.

Additional facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, health and fitness centre and lounge areas will be accommodated at the ground floor. Due for completion in January 2013, this 450-apartment development will become a new landmark on the headland that makes up Reem Island.
