As part of Dubai’s move to expand its financial developments to a global level, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) looked to Woods Bagot to design their new 8,000 m2 headquarters. The brief sought to accommodate the four major DIFC companies in a cohesive manner, with each maintaining the level of independence expected for a regulatory body.
The planning of the new AED 30 million offices called for careful consideration of privacy within a communicable and dynamic environment.
Planning was based upon maximising natural light and views, whilst the palette of materials incorporated rich stone, timber and clean semi‑translucent glazing.
