CEFPI (Council of Education Facility Planners International) 2010 Australasia Regional Conference, Perth

The CEFPI 2010 Australasia Regional Conference aimed to challenge the themes of innovation, advocacy and participation by stimulating an educational and architectural debate about our learning environments.
As part of the CEFPI conference tour afternoon, a small group visited the University of Western Australia Business School, a Woods Bagot project completed in 2009. Keith Rappa, Faculty Manager, provided overview of project prior to walk around, stating what a tremendous success the building has been for the University. Design and Health 2010 Australasia Conference

Held in April, the Design and Health Australasia Conference was dedicated to exploring global perspectives on enhancing health, wellbeing and quality of life within the local context of health infrastructure development within the Australasian region.
The two day conference attracted many specialists in healthcare globally and in particular many Woods Bagot representatives, including Mark Kelly, Education and Science Sector Leader, John Breguet, Director of Health Consulting, Health Project Leaders Peter Fleming and Douglas Roxburgh, while Gunther De Graeve engaged audiences on the topic of ‘An Architectural Evolution towards Healthcare in 2050’.
Informa University Planning Summit

Held in Sydney for the first year, the Informa University and Planning Summit created a forum that focused on the imperatives of modern service – form, function and finance.
Wood Bagot’s Education Specialist, Georgia Singleton presented to the congregation on the topic of “Creating an Experiential Learning Environment”, which outlined evolving needs and fundamental changes in learning environments, the need for flexible, integrated open studio environments and included considerations needed when designing a space for access to multidisciplinary learning and modern technology.
