Award winning global architecture practice Woods Bagot has appointed former Chief Executive of Capgemini UK plc, Clive Williams as Chairman of the Board. Drawing upon his extensive experience within professional services, Clive will be critical in guiding the firm’s growth plans as it continues to connect its studios and project work across the globe.
Experienced in growing IT and consulting businesses on a global scale, Clive has first-hand knowledge of the specifics required for achieving success in Europe, North America and Asia - areas where Woods Bagot continues to make significant strides.
Clive will advise the practice as it seeks to unify its operations and output across the globe under the firm’s One Global Studio initiative. Already relocating its senior leadership team across key regions and studios, Woods Bagot is now connecting teams and client work through an advanced intranet Design Intelligence Portal that offers a minute by minute representation of project work in real time across the world.
Ross Donaldson, Joint Group Managing Director, based in Hong Kong, commented:
“By harnessing Clive’s demonstrated success in the professional services arena Woods Bagot is offering our clients a new approach for architecture away from that primarily focussed on creative delivery. Clive’s appointment will allow us to run the practice much more along the lines of a professional services consultancy firm. We are excited by Clive’s appointment and the experience he brings to the practice.”
Joint Group Managing Director Richard Marshall, based in San Francisco, added:
“As we continue to expand and connect our studios and employees, Clive will help to deliver the intelligence and leadership required for a global network which will better serve our clients and position Woods Bagot for the future.”
Speaking of his appointment, Clive Williams said:
“Woods Bagot has an ambitious growth plan and one which aligns with my knowledge and experience of growing organisations across different global markets. I hope to offer both the independent governance and advice plus internal leadership required as the practice grows.”
A recent example of Woods Bagot’s unified One Global Studio approach in action can be seen in the recent work with Shijiazhuang International Exhibition and Convention Centre - a significant new landmark cultural and mixed use project in north China. This offers a prominent example of Woods Bagot’s global approach to projects, which combines expertise from its studios across the world.
