The veterinary precinct master plan was developed to provide links between the existing faculty of agricultural sciences, existing laboratories and animal holding facilities, and future equine facilities.

A major component of the building was specifically designed for dissection and live animal classes and so a sensitive design approach was required in order for the specialised learning environments to remain discreet from public eye.
