Baku Airport, Azerbaijan

Woods Bagot has been appointed to redesign and extend the principal facilities across the whole airport. A two stage
USD 600 million scheme will expand the international terminal by relocating domestic facilities into a single hub, connected through a pier construction. In Baku, the team alongside Buro Happold, Arup and Azerbaijan Airlines are working to design a terminal, air traffic control tower and presidential building facilities at Heydar Aliyev International.

The airport is located approximately 30km north east of Baku on the outskirts of the city and this iconic project will see a substantial investment to triple the capacity of the airport.

In order to meet the demanding delivery programme this high profile project will be delivered by a co-located design team based on-site in Baku over the next several months, with additional support from the Dubai and London studios.
