Woods Bagot has collaborated with US tower specialists Pickard Chilton (PCI) on the design of Australian developer Sunland Group's new landmark “The Atrium” on a shoreline site within Nakheel’s emerging new city, Waterfront.
Featuring a striking parabolic form, and curved in plan, the 68-level, 278-metre tall, residential tower is sure to become a prominent landmark for Waterfront. The tower is the third in a series of prestigious tall residential projects for Sunland Group, whose previous developments include the Q1 and D1 towers and also the Palazzo Versace hotels, in Australia’s Gold Coast and Dubai.
Woods Bagot is working closely with PCI and Sunland Group to generate a wide range of apartment types within the curved tower, from studios and one-bedroom apartments in the lower levels to large penthouses and suites in the upper floors.
The arched tower form will be topped by an impressive 50-metre high crown that will be used to carry innovative solar and wind energy systems, to ensure that the development achieves the mandatory LEED Gold status required at the Waterfront.
